Players of the Week.
Raney RiddleBarger & Evan Easton
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raney RiddleBarger
Raney plays as a defender for the Under 9 Barnett Ford Stars Team. She brings consistency to everything she does. Coach can count on her showing up; coach can count on her to be ready to play and learn; coach can count on her to do the job we need to stop the other team and turn around their attack.
Coach delights in seeing these seemingly unassuming personalities light up when a ball is at their feet or an attacker is running at them. Raney can impress like that.
Raney may find she has the skills for other positions as she gains confidence and ball skill. Coach hopes she continues to train with the Academy this Summer and she plays in the Under 9 3V3 Training League Bracket. However she spends her summer, Raney has a place in the game and a place on the Academy team.
Congratulations Raney Riddlebarger!!!
&
Congratulations to Barnett Ford Stars on a Tremendous Spring Season!!!
& Congratulations to our Tremendous Goalkeeper
Evan Easton
Evan (the Evanator) Easton plays in goal for this team, and he displays the courage and athletic characteristics which will allow him to succeed as a keeper for future teams.
In addition to making the saves we need him to make, when the attacker does break loose from our back line, Evan does not hesitate to come off his line. This past Saturday Evan stopped numerous one-V-one situations, and kept his team in the game.
After making the often courageous save, Evan starts the attack for the Barnett Ford Stars with his excellent distribution.
Both Evan and Raney, along with Amora, Braidan, and Arden, will all move up after this season, but boy, what a season they gave us...Each of these personalities will be missed as they fit into this team.
Yet these players will take their technical skills and the tactical awareness for the game they developed this past season with them, and their future teams and future coaches will benefit.
Let's hope they continue to play for the White and Green-o Group.
The very day after Evan performed for his Under 9 Team, his mother took the field for Gang Green in our Women's Sunday Soccer League. She would be the last player to touch this corner kick before it enters the goal.
Watch as she clears the space for a run to goal and times the movement perfectly for a back post finish...
Happy mother's day to Jodie Easton, mother of our tremendous keeper, Evan.
