This Post Commemorates the United States Men's National Team's Tie In Azteca Stadium on March 26, 2013. This occasion was only the second time in US Men's history, that the US has taken a point from the away leg of the match-up.
Though the game was not without controversy--Mexico believed they were fouled twice in the penalty area, and deserved the penalty kicks--the US team showed discipline and some passing flare.
Could this be the start of a team this country can believe in? Is Klinsmann the coach, or the persona, to change the International face of the American game? Many of us stateside are starting to believe in him, and the games in Costa Rica and Mexico may have ignited that ember of passion for this team.
Overcoming adversity to achieve success has been the cliche' referenced to give this team claim to the American Dream.
Now the team must continue with the script by winning games despite the injuries, field conditions, and controversy.
How To Soccer "live-Tweeted" the game on the 26th, and those updates appear below. However, in order to read the tweets in the order of the game chronology, you will need to scroll down to the bottom of the page--where you will see some tweets from March 23, 24, and 25 relating the the US Costa Rica game. Then you will read as you scroll up.
Then sometime in the second half--right after I ask, "are we behind this Klinsmann?"--the text picks up my twitter feed, so the scroll bar is inside the post. I hope you see what I mean as you scroll up.
Finish with the highlights from YouTube.
